Time for another adventure
It has been about two years since I had a little adventure so it is time to get on the road again. This time, I would like a real challenge, something that is interesting and hard and something that will provide experiences I have never had before. So, Uganda here we come. On this ride, I do around 2000 km, much of which will be winding through villages off-road. I won’t be taking much gear this time in an attempt to keep my bike light. I am aiming to raise $25,000 to repurpose some buildings and set up a new community education centre. Not only will this new centre provide a range of exciting education opportunities, it is also being developed to enable a new source of income for the project so that over time the project can become self-sufficient.
Come with me as I build the skills and fitness to get this done, and follow along at home as I make the amazing journey around Uganda.
See the route below. (yes, it is all rather daunting and things change so quickly in Uganda that there is no point planning too much too far ahead of time. I will be relying on local knowledge and advice to make my way around)
Old school
But wait, there’s more.
I would have thought that surely you would be tired of reading my 6am dribble by now, clearly this is not the case and you continue to read. Good for you! So I can have a tendency to get a little carried away with preparation, if you would like to have a look at some of the details of my trip you are welcome to peruse the planning page.
Peculiar Marketplace
I will be sharing a bit more about this later, but if you are the intrigued and impatient type you can have a sneak peak at some of the wacky ways I will be raising money while on this trip. This page is very much for those of you that are not interested in the boring old way of donating money and would like to get in on a slightly new and quirky approach to fundraising. Have a look at my Peculiar Marketplace and keep an eye out on YouTube and Facebook for more information.
Still reading?? That is impressive, either that or it is time you got a hobby. If you came to look at artwork and are currently feeling confused about where the artwork went, you are in luck. Click the Prints for Sale button at the top of the page. Ok, I am done now.
